The iconic black jackets worn by Stalin’s secret Russian police are making a comeback. The current Russian presidential guards have put in an order for dozens of the long black coats. The order totals over $100,000 for 120 coats.
The jackets were worn by the NKVD, the secret police that carried out countless horrific executions during Stalin’s time in power.
The fashion is only part of recent Stalin resurgences. His portrait has been appearing on buses and lyrics praising him were placed in a subway station.
Perhaps Joseph is trying to communicate from the grave. Or maybe the coats just look really cool.
