A court in Moscow has sentenced a hacker for blasting drivers caught in the rush hour with hardcore porn.
Like something out of a Chuck Palahniuk novel, hacker Igor Blinnikov thought it would be amusing to hack a video billboard on a busy Moscow road by switching the feed to show busy commuters hardcore pornography. The act shocked and amused commuters, and got the 41-year-old hacker from Novorossisk a swift detention.
The man was tried and sentenced, not for hacking the feed, but for possessing 20 grams of marijuana. At the time, authorities found it difficult to prosecute him under preexisting cybercrime laws.
Today, Blinnikov stood on trial for the hack itself. He now faces six years in prison for his anarchic act.
